“The BC Ministry of Health brought Marc aboard to involve the people of our province in our ambitious healthcare innovation program. The goal was to make people aware of the program, engage them, and motivate them to change behavior.
Marc began by bringing our team together and brainstorming possible routes forward. Although a number of paths were explored, we all agreed to launch down the route of films that explained the story of healthcare in lay terms. Then we went one step further, and animated the films in a variety of styles.
With Marc spearheading the creative output, this project grew into a series of 9 films, an interactive website, an ad campaign, and – most impressive for a government body – a real time online chat service that gave British Columbians instant access to experts.
The program has just launched to much acclaim, and is getting good traction. Significantly, the feedback on the site and in the online chat is helping inform us on future innovations that may be considered.
This is possibly the most ambitious proactive program we’ve created this year. And, I’m happy to say, it’s one of the most creative pieces of work I’ve ever seen come out of government. This is due in no small part to the consensus building and inclusive brainstorming Marc started the process with. At every stage, all the stakeholders felt they had a stake in the game. There was no ‘us and them’ relationship typical of agencies.
